Long before kingdoms carved borders into the wilds, an order of Lepus knights was sworn to guard the Forgotten Paths of the Deepwoods, those strange, shifting roads where memory thins and confusion moves like a shadow beside the wanderer.
When the order eventually fractured, some drifted into distant territories, while others were swallowed by the very darkness they had sworn to defeat. Yet one knight refused to abandon his oath.
That knight was Thistlegrim.
A quiet, steadfast warrior known more for vigilance than glory, Thistlegrim remained when others laid down their posts. He kept to the fading paths, clad in battered armour etched with the sigil of the Lepus Custos, his senses sharpened to disturbances long before they manifest in the mortal world.
Though he walks the Deepwoods alone, he is not the last of his kind. Other guardians endure, some born of the original Lepus order, others sworn into it later, scattered and secretive, patrolling swamps, borderlands, and the far-reaches where the world grows thin.
Among them, Thistlegrim is the Grand Knight, one of the few who held the first oath unbroken long after the world forgot why the Forgotten Paths needed watching at all.
To the lost, he is a silent guide.
To the curious who push too far, a warning.
And to the things that crawl from memory’s frayed edge… he is the last line.
